2010 State Singles
Hey All,
The end of the season is drawing near. Next week brings the Utah State Singles Championships at The Orem Fitness Center. We will be starting Wednesday the 24th and we will start play at 5:30 PM weekdays. If you can't make it to Orem by 5:30 PM please make note in the time conflict box when you sign up. First event is $40, second event is $15. Juniors (21-) are $30 first event and $10 for the second. If you are a junior and sign up online please enter the junior coupon with the discount $10 one event and $15 two events in the box. Enter online by following the link on this website. Following the Open Finals on Saturday, there will be a banquet, raffle, and general membership meeting. The banquet is free for all USAR members, $5 for non members. We will elect three new board members, anyone interested in being on the board please contact Mike Van Valkenburg at 801 502-9526 or inkmanvan@gmail.com . It's been a great season and despite the slow economy we have had a great turnout throughout the year, thanks to all of those who participated and made it alot of fun. This year the national office made it so we had to hold our State Singles Tournament a few weeks earlier than in the past. So, we will have a couple of events remaining after State Singles. The plan is to still have one more tournament in April at the South Davis Rec Center in Bountiful and the Travel League Tournament sometime in April also.
Remember, the junior program starts in June so if you have youngsters that may be interested in playing on a team or if you are interested in coaching a team, give me a call, it's a great program for the kids.
